Primeira Liga (Week 17) : Guimaraes defeats Académica 4-0
PORTUGAL, Jan. 17, 2015 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 17: After losing 3-0 to Benfica on January 10, the Vimaranenses returned to winning ways with a 4-0 victory over Académica Coimbra this Saturday.
Vitoria Guimaraes dominated the first half thanks to goals from Valente ('17), André ('35 on penalty) and Tomane ('40). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Vimaranenses further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Hernani with just 9 minutes remaining in regulation time.
Vitoria SC climbed to third place with 34 points from 17 games, 3 points behind FC Porto, which has a game in hand.
