Primeira Liga (Week 18) : Sporting beats Académica 1-0
PORTUGAL, Jan. 25, 2015 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 18: Five wins in a row for Sporting Lisbon. After their success against Nacional, Estoril, Braga and Rio Ave, the Sportinguistas continued their sensational form in the Primeira Liga with a 1-0 victory over Académica Coimbra this Sunday.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Sporting Lisbon midfielder Mario in the 76th minute.
Sporting Clube de Portugal remains in third place with 39 points from 18 games, one point behind FC Porto, which has a game in hand.
