Primeira Liga (Week 19) : Sporting beats Arouca 3-1
PORTUGAL, Feb. 1, 2015 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 19: 6 wins in a row for Sporting Lisbon. After their success against Nacional, Estoril, Braga, Rio Ave and Académica Coimbra, the Sportinguistas continued their sensational form in the Primeira Liga with a 3-1 victory over Arouca this Sunday.
Arouca midfielder Simao opened the score in the 24th minute on penalty, before seeing Sporting Lisbon catch up in the 30th minute thanks to Montero. 1-1 at half time. The Sportinguistas eventually won the game in the second period with two more goals by Carrillo ('63) and Figueiredo ('77).
Sporting Clube de Portugal climbed to second place with 42 points from 19 games, 7 points behind SL Benfica.
