Primeira Liga (Week 17) : Sporting beats Rio Ave 4-2
PORTUGAL, Jan. 18, 2015 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 17: Four wins in a row for Sporting Lisbon. After their success against Nacional, Estoril and Braga, the Sportinguistas continued their sensational form in the Primeira Liga with a 4-2 victory over Rio Ave this Sunday.
Sporting Lisbon midfielder Nani opened the score in the 30th minute on penalty, before seeing Rio Ave catch up in the 39th minute thanks to Del Valle. 1-1 at half time. The Sportinguistas eventually won the game in the second period with three more goals by Montero ('60), Mario ('67) and Tanaka ('90).
Sporting Clube de Portugal remains in third place with 36 points from 17 games, 4 points behind FC Porto.
