Primeira Liga (Week 6) : Sporting beats Tondela 2-0
PORTUGAL, Sep. 16, 2017 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 6: 6 wins in a row for Sporting Lisbon. After their success against Aves, Vitoria Setubal, Vitoria Guimaraes, Estoril and Feirense, the Sportinguistas continued their sensational form in the Primeira Liga with a 2-0 victory over Tondela this Saturday.
Sporting Lisbon dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by French defender Jérémy Mathieu in the 12th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Sportinguistas further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Fernandes Bruno in the 72nd minute.
Sporting Clube de Portugal climbed to first place with 18 points from 6 games, a 3-point lead over runner-up FC Porto, which has a game in hand.
