Segunda division (Week 19) : Girona beats Gimnastic 4-2
SPAIN, Dec. 17, 2016 (AMP) — Segunda division / Match day 19: After losing 2-1 to Alcorcon on December 11, the Blanquivermells bounced back with a 4-2 victory over Gimnastic de Tarragona this Saturday.
Gimnastic de Tarragona had started off well by taking the lead thanks to goals by Uche Ikechukwu ('26 on penalty) and Tajera Sergio ('42), while Girona only scored once Longo Samuele ('39). Trailing 2-1 at half time, the Blanquivermells nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring three times in the second period (Juanpe Lopez '48, Sandaza Fran '73 on penalty and Herrera Cristian '88).
Girona FC remains in second place with 25 points from 15 games, 5 points behind Levante UD.
