RECIFE, Jul. 2, 1950 (AMP) — Brazil 50 : Chile defeated the United States by a score of 5-2 (halftime: 2-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Sunday night at the Estádio Ilha do Retiro in Recife.
Atilio Cremaschi scored dual goals
Chile dominated the first half thanks to goals from Robledo ('16) and Riera ('32). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Chilians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Cremaschi '54, '82 and Prieto '60).
