Yugoslavia beats Colombia to reach World Cup quarterfinals
ARICA, Jun. 7, 1962 (AMP) — Chile 62 : Yugoslavia defeated Colombia by a big score of 5-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Thursday afternoon at the Carlos Dittborn Stadium in Arica.
Milan Galić and Dražan Jerković scored dual goals
Yugoslavia dominated the first half thanks to goals from Galić ('20) and Jerković ('25). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Yugoslavs further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Galić '61, Melić '82 and Jerković '87).
