LIVERPOOL, Jul. 19, 1966 (AMP) — England 66 : Portugal defeated Brazil by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Tuesday night at Goodison Park in Liverpool.
Eusébio scored dual goals
Portugal dominated the first half thanks to goals from Simões ('15) and Eusébio ('27). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Portugueses further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Eusébio with just 5 minutes remaining in regulation time.
