MALAGA, Jun. 15, 1982 (AMP) — Spain 82 : Scotland defeated New Zealand by a score of 5-2 (halftime: 3-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Tuesday night at La Rosaleda Stadium in Malaga.
John Wark scored dual goals
Scotland dominated the first half thanks to goals from Dalglish ('18) and Wark ('30, '33). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Scots further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Robertson '73 and Archibald '79).
The result put the Scot top of Group F with 2 points. In their next game, Scotland will meet second-placed Brazil at La Rosaleda Stadium on June 18, while New Zealand will face USSR.
