SEVILLE, Jun. 18, 1982 (AMP) — Spain 82 : Brazil defeated Scotland by a score of 4-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a World Cup group stage game on Friday night at the Estadio Benito Villamarín.
Scottish defender David Narey opened the score in the 18th minute, before seeing Brazil catch up in the 33rd minute thanks to Zico. 1-1 at half time. The Brazilians eventually won the game in the second period with three more goals by Oscar ('49), Éder ('65) and Falcão ('87).
The result put the Brazilians top of Group F with 4 points. Scotland is second with 2 points. In their last game, Brazil will meet New Zealand at the Estadio Benito Villamarín on June 23, while Scotland will face USSR.
