MEXICO CITY, Jun. 10, 1986 (AMP) — Mexico 86 : Argentina defeated Bulgaria by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Tuesday at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario in Mexico City.
Argentina dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Jorge Valdano in the 3rd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Argentines further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Burruchaga in the 76th minute.
