STANFORD, Jun. 26, 1994 (AMP) — USA 94 : Colombia defeated Switzerland by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Sunday afternoon at the Stanford Stadium.
Colombia dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by midfielder Hernán Gaviria in the 44th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Colombians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by John Harold Lozano seconds before the end of regulation.
