MONTPELLIER, Jun. 25, 1998 (AMP) — France 98 : Germany defeated Iran by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Thursday night at the Stade de la Mosson in Montpellier.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with goals by Bierhoff ('50) and Klinsmann ('57).
