World Cup 1998 : Croatia beats Jamaica 3-1
LENS, Jun. 14, 1998 (AMP) — France 98 : Croatia defeated Jamaica by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a World Cup group stage game on Sunday night at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis in Lens.
Croatian midfielder Mario Stanić opened the score in the 27th minute, before seeing Jamaica catch up in the 45th minute thanks to Robbie Earle. 1-1 at half time. The Croatians eventually won the game in the second period with two more goals by Prosinečki ('53) and Šuker ('69).
The result put the Croatians top of Group H with 3 points. In their next game, Croatia will meet third-placed Japan at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis on June 20, while Jamaica will face Argentina.
