DAEJEON, Jun. 14, 2002 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 : Poland defeated the United States by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Friday night at the Daejeon World Cup Stadium.
Poland dominated the first half thanks to goals from Olisadebe ('3) and Kryszałowicz ('5). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Poles further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Żewłakow in the 66th minute.
