SAITAMA, Jun. 6, 2002 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 : Cameroon defeated Saudi Arabia by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Thursday night at the Saitama Stadium 2002 in Saitama.

Saudi Arabia made the Cameroonians doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Cameroonian forward Samuel Eto'o in the 66th minute.

The result put the Cameroonians second in Group E with 4 points. Saudi Arabia is bottom with no points. In their last game, Cameroon will meet group leaders Germany at the Saitama Stadium 2002 on June 11, while Saudi Arabia will face Ireland.
