YOKOHAMA, Jun. 11, 2002 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 : Ireland defeated Saudi Arabia by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Tuesday night at the International Stadium Yokohama.
Ireland dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Robbie Keane in the 7th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Irishs further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Breen '61 and Duff '87).
