CAPE TOWN, Jun. 24, 2010 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 : The Netherlands defeated Cameroon by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Thursday night at the Cape Town Stadium.
The Netherlands dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Robin van Persie in the 36th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Dutchs further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Huntelaar with just 7 minutes remaining in regulation time.
