RUSTENBURG, Jun. 24, 2010 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 : Japan defeated Denmark by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Thursday night at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg.
Japan dominated the first half thanks to goals from Honda ('17) and Endō ('30). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Japaneses further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Okazaki with just 3 minutes remaining in regulation time.
