SALVADOR, Jun. 16, 2014 (AMP) — Brazil 2014 : Germany defeated Portugal by a big score of 4-0 (halftime: 3-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Monday afternoon at the Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador.
Thomas Müller scored tripple goals
Germany dominated the first half thanks to goals from Müller ('12 on penalty, '45) and Hummels ('32). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Germans further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Müller in the 78th minute.
The result put the Germans top of Group G with 3 points. In their next game, Germany will meet Ghana at the Arena Fonte Nova on June 21, while Portugal will face the United States.
