BRASíLIA, Jun. 26, 2014 (AMP) — Brazil 2014 : Portugal defeated Ghana by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Thursday afternoon at the Mane Garrincha Stadium in Brasília.
Portugal dominated the first half as a result of the unfortunate own goal scored by defender John Boye in the 31st minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Portugueses further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Ronaldo with just 10 minutes remaining in regulation time.
