SAMARA, Jun. 17, 2018 (AMP) — Russia 2018 : Serbia defeated Costa Rica by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Sunday afternoon at the Cosmos Arena in Samara.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Serbian defender Aleksandar Kolarov in the 56th minute.
The result put the Serbians top of Group E with 3 points. In their next game, Serbia will meet Switzerland at the Cosmos Arena on June 22, while Costa Rica will face Brazil.
