SAINT PETERSBURG, Jun. 22, 2018 (AMP) — Russia 2018 : Brazil defeated Costa Rica by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Friday afternoon at the Krestovsky Stadium in Saint Petersburg.
45 minutes of play and neither the Brazilians nor the Costa Ricans have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by Coutinho ('90) and Neymar ('90).
The result put the Brazilians top of Group E with 4 points. Costa Rica is bottom with no points. In their last game, Brazil will meet second-placed Serbia at the Krestovsky Stadium on June 27, while Costa Rica will face Switzerland.
