World Cup 2018 : Switzerland held to a 2-2 draw by Costa Rica but qualifies for the Round of 16
NIZHNY NOVGOROD, Jun. 27, 2018 (AMP) — Russia 2018 : Switzerland tied 2-2 with Costa Rica (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Wednesday night at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium.
The Swisss started off well by taking the lead thanks to Swiss midfielder Blerim Džemaili in the 31st minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, and despite Drmić goal ('88) in the second period, they could not prevent a comeback by Costa Rica with goals by Waston ('56) and Yann Sommer ('90 own).
