World Cup 2018 : Switzerland beats Serbia 2-1
KALININGRAD, Jun. 22, 2018 (AMP) — Russia 2018 : Switzerland defeated Serbia by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-1), in a World Cup group stage game on Friday night at the Kaliningrad Stadium.
Serbia had started off well by taking the lead in the 5th minute with a goal by Mitrović. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the Swisss nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring twice in the second period (Xhaka '52 and Shaqiri '90).
The result put the Swiss second in Group E with 4 points. Serbia is third with 3 points. In their last game, Switzerland will meet Costa Rica at the Kaliningrad Stadium on June 27, while Serbia will face Brazil.
