Copa América 2016 : Mexico beats Jamaica 2-0
PASADENA, Jun. 9, 2016 (AMP) — Centenario : Mexico defeated Jamaica by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a Copa América group stage game on Thursday night at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
Mexico dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Javier Hernández in the 18th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Mexicans further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Peralta with just 9 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Mexicans top of Group C with 6 points. Jamaica is bottom with no points. In their last game, Mexico will meet second-placed Venezuela at the Rose Bowl on June 13, while Jamaica will face Uruguay.
