La Liga (Week 17) : Valencia beats Real Madrid 2-1
SPAIN, Jan. 4, 2015 (AMP) — La Liga / Match day 17: After 12 straigth victories against Deportivo La Coruna, Elche, Villarreal, Athletic Bilbao, Levante, Barcelona, Granada, Rayo Vallecano, Eibar, Malaga, Celta Vigo and Almeria, Los Blancos lost 2-1 against Valencia.
Real Madrid had started off well by taking the lead in the 14th minute with a goal by Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo on penalty. Trailing 1-0 at half time, Los Che nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring twice in the second period (Barragán '52 and Otamendi '65).
Real Madrid remains in first place with 39 points from 16 games, one point ahead of runner-up FC Barcelona.
