La Liga (Week 35) : Barcelona beats Gijon 6-0
SPAIN, Apr. 23, 2016 (AMP) — La Liga / Match day 35: Two wins in a row for Barcelona. After their 0-8 win against Deportivo La Coruna on April 20, Barca continued their sensational form in the La Liga with a 6-0 victory over Sporting Gijon this Saturday.
Luis Suárez served up another goal feast
Barcelona dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Argentine forward Lionel Messi in the 12th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, Barca further widened their lead in the second period by scoring five times (Suárez '63, '74/penalty, '77/penalty, '88 and Neymar '86/penalty).
FC Barcelona remains in first place with 82 points from 35 games, tie on points with runner-up Atletico Madrid.
