La Liga (Week 25) : Barcelona beats Gijon 6-1

SPAIN, Mar. 1, 2017 (AMP) — La Liga / Match day 25: Five wins in a row for Barcelona. After their success against Athletic Bilbao, Alavés, Leganés and Atletico Madrid, Barca continued their sensational form in the La Liga with a 6-1 victory over Sporting Gijon this Wednesday.

Barcelona dominated the first half thanks to goals from Messi ('9), Rodriguez Juan ('11 own) and Suárez ('27). Leading 3-1 at the break, Barca further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Alcacer Paco '49, Neymar '66 and Rakitić '87).

FC Barcelona climbed to first place with 57 points from 25 games, a 2-point lead over runner-up Real Madrid, which has two games in hand.
