La Liga (Week 35) : Villarreal defeats Gijon 3-1
SPAIN, Apr. 28, 2017 (AMP) — La Liga / Match day 35: Three wins in a row for Villarreal. After their success against Leganés and Atletico Madrid, El Submarino Amarillo continued their sensational form in the La Liga with a 3-1 victory over Sporting Gijon this Friday.
Bakambu Cedric scored dual goals
Villarreal dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Roberto Soldado in the 33rd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, El Submarino Amarillo further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Bakambu Cedric '47, '59).
Villarreal CF remains in fifth place with 63 points from 35 games, 5 points behind Sevilla FC, which has a game in hand.
