FRANCE, Dec. 6, 2014 (AMP) — Ligue 1 / Match day 17: After four straigth victories against Lorient, Guingamp, Monaco and Nice, Rennes lost 4-0 against Montpellier.
Montpellier dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by midfielder Jonas Martin in the 23rd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, Montpellier players further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Sanson '55, Barrios '60 and Mounier '90).
Rennes are down in 6th place with 28 points from 17 games, 2 points behind Olympique Lyonnais, which has a game in hand.
