Primeira Liga (Week 19) : Benfica beats Arouca 3-1
PORTUGAL, Jan. 23, 2016 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 19: 6 wins in a row for Benfica. After their success against Rio Ave, Vitoria Guimaraes, Maritimo, Nacional and Estoril, the Eagles continued their sensational form in the Primeira Liga with a 3-1 victory over Arouca this Saturday.
Benfica dominated the first half thanks to goals from Pizzi Luis Miguel ('3) and Mitroglou Kostas ('19). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Eagles further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Jonas Oliveira in the 67th minute.
SL Benfica climbed to first place with 46 points from 19 games, one point ahead of runner-up Sporting Clube de Portugal, which has a game in hand.
