RIO DE JANEIRO, Jul. 9, 1950 (AMP) — Brazil 50 : Brazil defeated Sweden by a big score of 7-1 (halftime: 3-0), in a World Cup second round game (Final Round Group) on Sunday afternoon at the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
Ademir served up another goal feast
Brazil dominated the first half thanks to goals from Ademir ('17, '36) and Chico ('39). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Brazilians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring four times (Ademir '52, '58, Maneca '85 and Chico '88).
The result put the Brazilians top of the group with 2 points. In their next game, Brazil will meet second-placed Spain at the Maracanã Stadium on July 13, while Sweden will face Uruguay.
