RIO DE JANEIRO, Jul. 13, 1950 (AMP) — Brazil 50 : Brazil defeated Spain by a big score of 6-1 (halftime: 3-0), in a World Cup second round game (Final Round Group) on Thursday afternoon at the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
Chico scored dual goals
Brazil dominated the first half thanks to goals from Parra ('15 own), Jair ('21) and Chico ('31). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Brazilians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Chico '55, Ademir '57 and Zizinho '67).
The result put the Brazilians top of the group with 4 points. Spain is third with one point. In their last game, Brazil will meet second-placed Uruguay at the Maracanã Stadium on July 16, while Spain will face Sweden.
