SãO PAULO, Jul. 16, 1950 (AMP) — Brazil 50 : Sweden defeated Spain by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a World Cup second round game (Final Round Group) on Sunday afternoon at the Pacaembu Stadium.
Sweden dominated the first half thanks to goals from Sundqvist ('15) and Mellberg ('33). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Swedishs further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Palmér with just 10 minutes remaining in regulation time.
