BELO HORIZONTE, Jun. 25, 1950 (AMP) — Brazil 50 : Yugoslavia defeated Switzerland by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Sunday night at the Estádio Independência in Belo Horizonte.
45 minutes of play and neither the Yugoslavs nor the Swisss have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by Mitić ('59), Tomašević ('70) and Ognjanov ('75).
The result put the Yugoslav second in Group 1 with 2 points. In their next game, Yugoslavia will meet Mexico at the Estádio Independência on June 28, while Switzerland will face Brazil.
