RIO DE JANEIRO, Jul. 1, 1950 (AMP) — Brazil 50 : Brazil defeated Yugoslavia by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Saturday afternoon at the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
Brazil dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Ademir in the 4th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Brazilians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Zizinho in the 69th minute.
