PORTO ALEGRE, Jul. 2, 1950 (AMP) — Brazil 50 : Switzerland defeated Mexico by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Sunday afternoon at the Pacaembu Stadium in Porto Alegre.
Switzerland dominated the first half thanks to goals from Bader ('10) and Antenen ('44). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Swisss further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by in the th minute.
