World Cup 1998 : France and Denmark qualify for the Round of 16
LYON, Jun. 24, 1998 (AMP) — France 98 : France defeated Denmark by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a World Cup group stage game on Wednesday afternoon at the Stade de Gerland in Lyon.
French midfielder Youri Djorkaeff opened the score in the 12th minute on penalty, before seeing Denmark catch up in the 42nd minute thanks to Michael Laudrup penalty kick. 1-1 at half time. The Frenchs eventually won the game in the second period with with a goal by Petit in the 56th minute.
