AUCKLAND, Jun. 4, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (Oceania Qualifiers) : Tahiti defeated Vanuatu by a big score of 6-1 (halftime: 3-0), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Monday.

The result put the Tahitians top of Group 2 with 3 points. In their next game, Tahiti will meet New Zealand on June 6, while Vanuatu will face the Cook islands.
