AUCKLAND, Jun. 6, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (Oceania Qualifiers) : New Zealand defeated Tahiti by a big score of 5-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday.

The result put the New Zealander second in Group 2 with 3 points. Tahiti is third with 3 points. In their next game, New Zealand will meet the Cook islands on June 8, while Tahiti will face the Cook islands.
