AUCKLAND, Jun. 6, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (Oceania Qualifiers) : Vanuatu defeated the Cook islands by a big score of 8-1 (halftime: 3-1), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday afternoon.
The result put the Vanuatuans third in Group 2 with 3 points. The Cook islands is bottom with no points. In their next game, Vanuatu will meet group leaders the Solomon Islands on June 8, while the Cook islands will face New Zealand.
