La Liga (Week 18) : Elche defeats Bilbao 2-1
SPAIN, Jan. 11, 2015 (AMP) — La Liga / Match day 18: After their 2-2 draw against Villarreal on January 3, Los Franjiverdes bounced back with a 2-1 victory over Athletic Bilbao this Sunday.
Elche dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Víctor Rodríguez in the 17th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, Los Franjiverdes further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Fajr in the 53rd minute.
Athletic Bilbao remains in 12nd place with 19 points from 18 games, one point behind Rayo Vallecano de Madrid, which has a game in hand.
