La Liga (Week 20) : Real Madrid beats Gijon 5-1
SPAIN, Jan. 17, 2016 (AMP) — La Liga / Match day 20: Two wins in a row for Real Madrid. After their 5-0 win against Deportivo La Coruna on January 9, Los Blancos continued their sensational form in the La Liga with a 5-1 victory over Sporting Gijon this Sunday.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema scored dual goals
Real Madrid dominated the first half thanks to goals from Bale ('7), Ronaldo ('9, '18) and Benzema ('12, '41). Leading 5-0 at the break, Los Blancos further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by in the th minute.
Real Madrid climbed to second place with 43 points from 20 games, only one point behind Atletico Madrid, which has a game in hand.
