SPAIN, Dec. 17, 2016 (AMP) — La Liga / Match day 16: After losing 3-0 to Villarreal on December 12, Los Colchoneros returned to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Las Palmas this Saturday.
45 minutes of play and neither Atletico Madrid nor Las Palmas have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Atletico Madrid midfielder Saúl Ñiguez in the 59th minute.
Atletico Madrid climbed to fifth place with 28 points from 16 games, only one point behind Villarreal CF.
