SPAIN, Jan. 7, 2017 (AMP) — La Liga / Match day 17: After losing 1-0 to Atletico Madrid on December 17, Los Amarillos returned to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Sporting Gijon this Saturday.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Moroccan midfielder Nabil El Zhar in the 55th minute.
UD Las Palmas climbed to 8th place with 24 points from 17 games, 2 points behind Athletic Bilbao, which has a game in hand.
