Primeira Liga (Week 7) : Guimaraes draw 3-3 with Sporting
PORTUGAL, Oct. 1, 2016 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 7: The match between Sporting Lisbon and Vitoria Guimaraes ended in a frustrating 3-3 draw on Saturday.
Sporting Lisbon players started off well by taking the lead thanks to goals by Marković ('29) and Coates ('41). However, even though they were leading 2-0 at half time, and despite Trindade Elias goal ('70) in the second period, they could not prevent a comeback by Vitoria Guimaraes with goals by Moussa Marega ('74 on penalty, '75) and Trindade Elias ('89).
Sporting Clube de Portugal remains in second place with 16 points from 7 games, tie on points with SL Benfica, which has a game in hand.
